Merida theatre

 The Merida theatre was constructed between 16 to 15BC, partially built on the side of a hill. The theatre was used for theatrical games. The spectators were seated to their social rank in Rome. They were separated into 3 sections called the summa cavea, media cavea and the ima cavea these sections were separated by corridors and barriers.

Colloseum

The Colosseum was built between 72 & 80 AD. The Latin word for the Colosseum is Amphitheatrum Flavium, this is what it was originally called. The Colosseum was built on a former lake. It was the largest amphitheatre ever to be built, it was made up of composed of concrete and stone, it was a freestanding unlike any other amphitheatres.
