Eating and drinking

The romans would sit in reclined seats with the table full of food.

The tables were loaded with roasted ostriches for ordinary Romans,

Ientaculum was a Roman breakfast, served at daybreak. A small lunch, Prandium, was eaten at around 11am. The Mediterranean diet is recognised today as one of the healthiest in the world.

The types of meats were animals like Dormice, Hare, Snails and Boar.

Smaller birds like Thrushes were eaten as well as Chicken and Pheasants.
